Cut-Out Tool

The Cut-Out Tool allows you to subtract areas or volumes from your measurements, making it easy to account for elements such as islands, windows, or other exclusions. The Cut-Out Tool is available for both volume and area measurements. This feature enables precise adjustments by removing specific sections from your measurements. You can access the Cut-Out Tool by right-clicking on the measurement and selecting it from the context menu. Follow these steps to use the Cut-Out Tool effectively,

Adding a Cut-Out

  1. On the plan, find the volume or area measurement from which you want to subtract a section.
  2. Right-click on the measurement element to open the context menu.
  3. From the context menu, select "Cut-Out Tool".

Navigation hints

  • Click on the plan to begin defining the cut-out area or volume.
  • Move to the next point and click again to create a line between the two points.
  • Continue this process to outline the area or volume to be subtracted.
  • Double-click the last point to close and complete the cut-out area/volume.

Example Usage

  1. Here we are removing an Island Bench from a Flooring Measurement
    • Right-click on the flooring area measurement, select "Cut-Out Tool," and outline the island bench area to subtract it from the total flooring area.

2. Here we are excluding the volume occupied by a staircase from your total volume

    •  Right-click on the volume area, select the "Cut-Out Tool," and outline the staircase area to subtract the staircase volume from the total.

Plan Navigation Hints

  • Click, hold, and drag to move around the plan
  • Use the mouse scroll wheel to zoom in and out for greater accuracy.

Additional Tips

  • You can perform multiple cut-outs on the same measurement by repeating the steps to define and subtract additional areas or volumes.
