4. Writing the Commercial Content
The Commercials panel controls the written, client-facing sections of the quote. Each item has a toggle switch — turn it on to show that section in the preview and in any exported PDF.
4.1 Scope of Work
A free-text box, edited directly in the preview, for describing the project: key tasks, deliverables and expected timeline. Use it to also cover payment terms, health and safety considerations, and how communication with the client will be handled throughout the project, so every essential detail is captured in one place.
4.2 Inclusions
Lists any extra services, materials or tasks that are included in the project but might not be explicitly itemised elsewhere in the scope of work or pricing table.
4.3 Exclusions
Lists items or services that are specifically not covered by the quote. Being explicit here helps manage client expectations and reduces the risk of disputes once work is underway.
4.4 Tags
An optional toggle for short clarifications or callouts attached to specific line items — useful for flagging assumptions, provisional items, or points that still need client sign-off, without cluttering the main scope of work.
4.5 Notes
A free-text area for any additional comments or special instructions — either supplementary information for the client, or notes for your own internal team.
4.6 Terms and Conditions
Enabled by default. Attaches your standard terms and conditions to the bottom of the quote, ensuring every document sent to a client carries the same contractual language.
Toggling a Commercials item off hides it from the preview and export but does not delete any text you’ve already entered — switch it back on and your content reappears.
Scope of Work, Inclusions and Exclusions only appear on the quote once you’ve typed something into them — an empty, toggled-on section still shows its placeholder text (“add scope of work here”) to remind you it needs content before sending.
