Every contract obligation. Tracked. Defended. Closed.

Methvin gives contracts managers a single platform to control costs, manage project progress, enforce correspondence obligations and maintain the document trail that protects your position on every contract — whether you're administering NEC, AS, FIDIC or bespoke conditions.

The four pillars of contract control

From cost certainty to contractual correspondence — every obligation managed in one connected platform.

01

Job Costing & Contract Cost Control

Track committed costs, sub-contract values, approved variations and provisional sums against each cost code in real time. Forecast cost-at-completion with confidence and flag overruns before they crystallise — not after the client's payment certificate arrives.

02

Project Management & Progress Monitoring

Maintain work packages, milestone registers and sub-contractor performance against the contract programme. Integrate progress claims with your cost register so payment assessments are always backed by current completion data — not last month's spreadsheet.

03

Contractual Correspondence & Notices

Issue, receive and register every early warning, compensation event notice, payment claim, variation instruction and dispute notice in a numbered, time-stamped register. Automated response-period tracking means you never inadvertently accept a claim by failing to respond in time.

04

Document Control & Contractual Record-Keeping

Store and control contract documents, programme submissions, method statements and variation substantiation packs with full revision history. When a dispute reaches adjudication, your complete documentary record is exportable in minutes — not assembled over weeks from inboxes.

Modules built for contracts managers

Four integrated tools that share the same project data — so your cost, programme, correspondence and document records are always aligned.

Job Costing

Map sub-contract values, variation orders, dayworks and provisional sums to cost codes. Compare committed costs to actuals and run a live forecast against the contract sum — so your commercial position is never a surprise at month end.

Document Control

Maintain controlled registers of contract documents, programme submissions, variation substantiation packs and adjudication bundles. Revision history, transmittal records and access-controlled sharing mean your contractual position is fully documented and instantly retrievable.

What commercial and contracts professionals say about Methvin.

★★★★★

We had a compensation event dispute that went to adjudication. Because every notice, response, programme update and cost record was in Methvin with timestamps, we assembled a comprehensive bundle within a day. The adjudicator commented it was the most organised submission they'd seen

Before Methvin I had a spreadsheet for costs, a shared drive for documents and email for notices — three places to check before I could answer any question from the client. Now it's one platform and the cost forecast updates the moment a variation is approved.

The correspondence module understands how NEC works. Response periods are tracked per notice type and the escalation alerts mean we've never defaulted on a payment notice or failed to issue a pay-less notice in time. That alone has saved us from significant financial exposure.

Frequently asked questions

What contracts managers ask before adopting Methvin on their projects.

Which standard forms of contract does Methvin support?

Methvin's correspondence module is configurable to match the notice types and response periods in NEC3, NEC4, AS 4000, AS 2124, FIDIC Red, Yellow and Silver Books, JCT and bespoke forms. Notice categories, response period defaults and escalation rules can all be tailored to your specific contract conditions.

How are variation costs linked to the job cost forecast?

When a variation is approved in the correspondence register, its assessed value is automatically committed against the relevant cost code in the job cost module. The forecast-at-completion updates immediately — so the client's QS and your own commercial team always see the same current picture without manual reconciliation.

Can sub-contractors submit payment claims through Methvin?

Yes. Sub-contractors can be granted portal access to submit progress claims directly into the correspondence register, where they are assigned a contractual response deadline automatically. Assessment responses and payment certificates are issued through the same register, creating an unbroken, time-stamped payment chain.

How does Methvin help prepare adjudication or dispute documentation?

All correspondence, cost records, programme data and documents are stored with timestamps in one platform. You can filter by date range, notice type or cost code and export a complete, chronologically ordered record — eliminating the weeks typically spent reconstructing the contractual history from email threads and shared drives.

Can different access levels be set for the client, sub-contractors and internal teams?

Yes. Role-based permissions allow you to scope each external party's access to specific projects, correspondence types or document categories. Clients can view progress and correspondence relevant to them; sub-contractors see only their package — neither has visibility of your internal cost registers or commercial strategy.

Is there an audit trail for all actions taken in the platform?

Yes. Every action — issuing a notice, approving a variation, superseding a document, uploading a revision — is logged with a timestamp and the user who performed it. This audit trail cannot be edited or deleted and is available for export at any time, providing a chain of custody that satisfies most standard contract audit requirements.
